Oh, hey, a Rover F-head six.
Actually, they're not total evil other than developing really mediocre power and requiring hot adjustment of the exhaust valves (guess where). They'll run on some of the worst gas known to man.

Are you sure Bring A Trailer didn't find it for you?!
This is on my local Craigslist. I want it so bad. I'm going to offer $950 because the mirror is missing.

Yeah, I never read that site.

I saw the Rover there yesterday. I'd love put some huge Marchal/Cibie lights on it and drive it through a shallow river.
Sadly, you aren't missing much on BaT. It used to be such a treasure trove of old car veterans and collectors with great knowledge about weird cars. That was years ago. It's a lot to sift through these days.

Intake muffler for the bearings.

Here, let me melt some tar with toluene and add lamp oil so we can see if it'll run on that.

Who else but the Brits would use a damned muffler for an airbox.

Rednecks?

Rednecks like stuff coming out of their exhaust pipes, not in.

Pictured: a GM 6.2 engine bay, with giant-ass plastic intake muffler. Because GM. ADMY isn't wrong that a redneck might have one, though.
